Meet Natalia Roubaud, a compassionate and skilled Registered Social Worker with a deep commitment to supporting individuals and communities in trauma-informed healing. Natalia holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto and is currently a counsellor for students at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Calgary. Previously, she served as a Clinical and Organizational Development Consultant for the Kackaamin Family Development Centre in Port Alberni, BC, one of only three Indigenous Family Treatment programs in Canada. This role underscored her commitment to culturally sensitive and community-focused care.
Natalia’s educational journey also includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Calgary and a Certificate in Forensic Studies from Mount Royal University. With over a decade of experience in the child welfare system, Natalia has developed expertise in supporting children, youth, and families facing complex challenges, particularly those stemming from trauma and systemic adversity.
Her approach to counselling is integrative and trauma-informed, employing a range of therapeutic modalities including Attachment Theory, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. She emphasizes a holistic approach to healing, addressing not only the psychological but also the physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of trauma recovery.
Natalia provides services in both English and Spanish, making her work accessible to clients from diverse linguistic backgrounds. Her approach fosters a supportive, respectful environment that honors each client’s unique experiences and needs.
In addition to individual counselling, Natalia facilitates experiential group workshops designed for both professionals and clients. These workshops aim to deepen understanding of how trauma influences mental health challenges and addiction, supporting participants in their healing journey.

Mariam Elghahuagi is an accomplished social innovator and community developer with over ten years of experience in program development and project management. As the Manager of Healthy Aging Alberta at United Way of Calgary and Area, Mariam has led the organization's first provincial collective impact initiative, securing over $15 million to address the needs of Alberta's aging population. Her expertise in managing multi-stakeholder projects and developing communication strategies has enabled her to cultivate partnerships across sectors, including government ministries, corporate partners, and community organizations.
Mariam's exceptional skills in business process development, change management, and leading interdisciplinary teams have been instrumental in driving the growth of Healthy Aging Alberta. She has successfully led sector development projects, including the CORE Alberta digital knowledge hub, the Healthy Aging Framework, and regional and provincial events such as the Healthy Aging—Alberta Summit 2023.
In addition to her leadership role at United Way, Mariam provides consulting services as an Organizational Growth Consultant for the Kackaamin Family Development Centre in Port Alberni, BC. She offers expert guidance on developing adaptable organizational structures, optimizing resources, and implementing robust data collection and management processes.
